It is called heavy water because its density is greater than H\u2082O, and its chemical formula is D\u2082O. 2H2O is a form of water that contains a larger than normal amount of the hydrogen isotope deuterium, rather than the common hydrogen-1 isotope that makes up most of the hydrogen in normal water. Deuterium Oxide is about 10% heavier than ordinary water of isotopic concentrations, ranging from 70% to greater than 99.95% application<a href=\"https:\/\/bulkmunitionsdepot.com\/shop\/\">. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Deuterium is not radioactive and Oxide is often used to moderate Neutrons in nuclear reactors. This is because the signal from the water solvent would interfere with the signal from the molecule of interest. Packaging options include steel drums, glass bottles, and high-density polyethylene bottles. It is somewhat slower evaporating than ordinary water and occasionally used in formulations where a slower evaporation time is useful. An ice cube made of Deuterium Oxide sinks in normal water.
